1. When can I start the International Economic Relations programme?
You can start your studies at ISES either in the Fall or Spring Semester. The structure of the programme is designed to allow students this flexibility to accommodate for the diversity of situations our students come from. Please highlight your intent in the Application Form.
2. What kind of diploma will I obtain?
The International Economic Relations programme is accredited by Corvinus University of Budapest at the Hungarian Office for Education, which means that the programme is registered and recognized by the Hungarian State. Students who meet all of the requirements of each course, comprehensive exams, their thesis-writing and defense will obtain a "Specialised Master's Degree in International Relations" signed by the dean of Corvinus University of Budapest.
3. What kind of visa do I need?
Non-EU citizens studying at ISES need to obtain a D-type visa which will permit you to stay in Hungary as a student during the study-period. This visa does not allow you to work in Hungary while studying.
4. What is the visa process, how can I get visa?
The first step is to collect the necessary documents: valid passport (the period of expiry has to cover the study-period), 2 passport-size photos, valid health insurance, proof of subsistence in Hungary (bank account statement; or the declaration of the parents that they assume coverage of all costs of the stay in Hungary; or the document certifying the scholarship), visa invitation documents of the university.
After that you can go to the Hungarian Embassy or Consulate in your home-country or if there isn't Hungarian Embassy or Consulate you have to go to the assigned Hungarian Embassy of a neighbour-country where you have to fill the "Application for visa authorising stay longer than 3 months" (it can be downloaded from the website of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, please click here to download) and submit the fully completed application.
After submission you need to wait approximately 3-4 weeks. During this time the Embassy sends your application to Hungary to the Hungarian Office for Immigration where your application will be considered. The Office for Immigration will send the results (acceptance or dismissal of the application) to the Embassy and they will inform you.
5. How long will the visa process take?
The visa process takes 3-4 weeks.
6. What kind of documents will be provided by ISES regarding the visa process?
ISES provides a full visa invitation package which includes a letter of acceptance, a letter of invitation, proof of enrollment (these documents contain the accommodation details, amount of tuition fee and scholarship) and a cover letter to the Hungarian Ambassador in which ISES asks him/her to help the students in expediting the visa process and to speed up the procedure as much as possible.
7. What do I have to do after arrival to Kõszeg regarding visa cases?
After the positive answer of the Hungarian Office for Immigration, students receive a visa from the Embassy which authorizes them a single entry to Hungary and this document is valid 30 days long. After arrival to Kõszeg you need to go to the regional Office for Immigration where you will receive the residence permit. ISES will help you in completing these official procedures.
8. When do I have to pay the tuition fee?
The deadline for the payment of tuition fees is two weeks before the beginning of the semester. ISES will allow students to pay the tuition fee in portions or at the end of the semester for those whose financial status makes them unable to pay the tuition fee in one amount.

10. What are the accommodation possibilities?
Students often stay in a student dormitory in Kõszeg where they live in double rooms and use common kitchen and bathrooms. The monthly fee is 20 000 HUF or 75 EUR. Other possibilities include renting a flat or staying in a Guest House. The average cost of renting a flat (2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom with full equipment) is 65 000 HUF or 245 EUR per month including utilities. The Guest House, which is just 2 minutes from the Europe House, offers 2 single rooms for students with own bathroom, possibility to use the common fridge and a washing machine. One room at the Guest House costs 35 000 HUF or 132 EUR per month which includes cleaning once a week.
