International development and cultural diplomacy play increasingly important roles in a globalizing world. Nations, political, economic and civil society actors are establishing bi-and multi-lateral relations. At the same time, new potential sources of conflict are emerging like climate change, food and water shortages, radical political and religious tendencies, and migration. This presents new challenges for people working in international relations and diplomacy and requires new skills and training.

The two-year Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Research and Studies on Eastern Europe (MIREES) programme is jointly offered by the University of Bologna, Italy together with the Vytautas Magnus University at Kaunas, Corvinus University of Budapest and St Petersburg State University. The University of Ljubljana is an associate partner that offers additional mobility for students.
